Prices are higher than previously stated in the reviews, but very worthwhile experience!!
Boquillas Crossing Port of Entry的点评
点评:I was a little bit nervous crossing over into Mexico but felt better after talking with the park rangers and seeing the reviews on TripAdvisor. We were glad that we went, but prices have gone up! After checking in with border patrol, we walked a short way to the river. $5 round trip for the boat ride across, $15 a person for a horse or burro ride into town. That did include a “guide” that stayed close by during our stay. We had to check into the Mexican embassy where we needed to pay $8 each. Our guide recommended the Bochillas restaurant and it was excellent but we discovered we weren’t going to have enough cash. Thankfully our guide hooked us up with a local who used Venmo so we could pay him for our meal! The lunch plates were $8 each… very reasonable for the delicious food, and the guacamole and margaritas were amazing! The other restaurant in town does take Venmo and a few of the merchants do also. There was no pressure to buy things and our guide walked us through town and pointed out various buildings… the churches, schools and hospital. All in all it was a nice experience, but I agree with others to take cash and have some smaller bills on hand! It’s not every day you can cross the Rio Grande, ride a burro and have an authentic Mexican experience!
