点评：Going to the Monkey Park was the absolute highlight...anyone who visits Beppu need to pay these primates a visit. We went before their feeding and on a day when there was a skills show--the monkeys performed various skills hosted by the trainers at the park. Apparently they only do this once a day (?) and if memory serves me correct, it was around 3:30pm on a weekday we visited. This monkey show made it all worth it--mind you, these are all wild monkeys that have somewhat domesticated over the years esp. with the trainers/zoo staff. They know the history of most of the monkeys so their knowledge added color when introducing some of the leaders of the pack (done all in Japanese). The monkeys will come up very close but will not touch/attack as long as you maintain protocol--one of which was not to make eye contact. They have a huge parking (for a fee) and the entrance fee was all well worth the visit.
翻译：去猴园绝对是此行的一大亮点……任何来别府的人都应该去看看这些灵长类动物。我们去的时候正值喂食前，而且那天正好有技能表演——猴子们在驯兽员的指导下表演了各种各样的技能。据说他们每天只表演一次（？），如果我没记错的话，我们去的那天是工作日，大概是下午3点半左右。这场猴子表演让我觉得不虚此行——要知道，这些都是野生猴子，经过多年的驯兽和动物园工作人员的驯化，它们变得有些温顺。他们了解大多数猴子的历史，所以当他们介绍一些猴群的首领时（全程用日语），他们的知识让介绍更加生动有趣。猴子们会走得很近，但只要你遵守规矩，它们就不会碰你或攻击你——其中一条规矩就是不要和它们进行眼神交流。猴园有一个很大的停车场（收费），门票绝对物超所值。
