点评:I very much enjoyed visiting Stone Town and staying there for two nights. It is the oldest part of Zanzibar City and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rich in history and cultural heritage.
The streets are narrow and maze-like, lined with many small souvenir shops, and invite leisurely walks, although it is easy to get lost — which is part of the charm.
Throughout my stay, I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable; the atmosphere was calm and welcoming.
A visit to Darajani Market is highly recommended.
It is very authentic and local, selling fruit, fish, spices, clothing and everyday goods, offering a genuine insight into daily life in Zanzibar.
The Forodhani Gardens night market is also a must-see, especially in the late afternoon and evening.
Stone Town also offers excellent rooftop venues, many with Arabic and African-inspired décor.
The Freddie Mercury House is mainly worth seeing for a photo outside.
Some of the shops selling the precious Tanzanite gemstone are also worth a visit.
Stone Town is vibrant, authentic and full of character, and I would recommend staying at least one or two nights to fully appreciate it.
