点评:I'd read about the statue to Tombili (which means something like 'Chubby') a much-loved street cat among the many in Istanbul. So we decided to have a day away from the main monuments and visit it. It's easy to reach by metro - get off at Söğütlüçeşme and it’s then only a few minutes’ walk. There’s not much there, but it’s something quite different and will get you away from the tourist traps for half a day. We had a coffee at a sophisticated cafe on the way to Tombili and decided to walk down to the Bosphorus shore afterwards, stopping for lunch at an unsophisticated borek cafe, where the staff were surprised and delighted to see us foreigners and super friendly. It was good to see a tiny bit of the Istanbul that ordinary people live in. Recommended as a quirky addition to the magnificence on the other shore.
