Fireworks cruise was miserable

点评：We chose the Princess for the fireworks tour in order to avoid crowds and traffic at the waterfront. However, we ended up regretting our decision. It wasn't the fault of the crew, who were very nice. We purchased the VIP ticket and boarded early in order to get a good seat on the top deck. However, when the rest of the passengers boarded, naturally, a group of obnoxious people chose to stand right on top of us. They were loud, cursing, talking about vulgar things, and actually leaning in on us. They ran off one couple and it was clear their goal was to run us off, too. We stayed put because there was nowhere else to sit, but it was miserable and I wouldn't take the risk again. They sang (terribly) at the top of their lungs, directly into our ears.
There were other loud, obnoxious, drunk passengers, as well. I'm just thankful I didn't take any children to this but there were some kids who had to see all of that. I'm sure there were nice people onboard but you're taking a big risk of being assaulted by loud crudeness.
The only thing the crew could have done better was to choose better music to accompany the fireworks; most of the songs were awful. They used a 1970s playlist from the start.
Regarding the fireworks, we saw two different shows but you're far enough away that you don't really get the full experience, so I would just go to the viewing location next time or charter a smaller boat.
The every day cruises may be better but if you don't want loud, drunk people hanging over you for three hours, you're taking a risk.
