点评：Despite the high ratings, we were a bit disappointed with our visit. It’s easy to see why the castle is popular: transportation to/from is Vilnius is simple and fast (we took the bus, and it was excellent), the walk through town is reasonably scenic, and the island location, with its long bridge, very photogenic. Touring the castle itself, though, is underwhelming. The 1950s-1960s reconstruction is a bit sterile and the walking flow on the stairs and through the rooms often constricted. Similarly, the descriptive plaque text often seems random. The Trakai Museum has a quantity of items on display, but there doesn’t seem to be much connectivity between the exhibits, or relevance to the castle itself. All things considered, a day trip to Trakai is certainly nice, but one might consider taking a picnic and enjoying the area rather than visiting the castle.
