点评:We did this hike and all the prep work I did lied and said the hike is easy. Parts of the hike are easy, parts are not. Parts are just walking through some sandy bits and other parts you are climbing on rocks with loads of pebbles that make your feet slip. Then you arrive at some rocks with the swirly wave pattern, but it isn't quite what you saw online, but the trail markers aren't that clear so you go a little bit further and we were very unimpressed. Maybe its because this was our last site of our trip and we'd already seen the rock formations in Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend, so this was just meh. Maybe its because all of the websites gave the indication that the hike was easy and the way into the Fire Wave left us climbing down some rocks with unsure footing and the way back up to the parking lot left us climbing up which left us out of breath. We did this in November, so we weren't unprepared and walking around in the heat with no water. While we aren't hikers, we aren't seriously out of shape - we can do a bit of hiking. The "easy" description of this let us believe it was exactly that - easy. It wasn't. Was it interesting? Yes. Was it impressive? No. The Valley of Fire Park itself is well worth the trip, but this formation wasn't worth the effort. We even timed it to arrive about 1 hour after sunrise to see the best colors and that didn't help either, as the sun wasn't quite there yet.
