Don't hesitate. An evening at the California Magic Dinner Threatre is tasty, funny and astounding!
California Magic Dinner Theatre的点评
点评：What a wonderful time! My wife and I took five visiting friends to the California Magic Club (aka California Magice Dinner Theatre) tonight. We all loved it. This as the third time I've been there. It just keeps getting better.
There are so many things to praise about this place. I hope I do them justice.
For starters, of course, there's the magic. It begins soon after you're seated, as magicians go from table to table performing great card and other tricks. They first visit is before your salad, then again between the salad and delicious main course: generous helpings of both tri-tip and chicken, complemented by nicely seasoned rice and string beans. (There's also a veggie option you can order in advance). Then yet more magice before a tasty dessert.
Service is also very friendly and efficient, and the drinks are generous pours, whether you're having wine, martinis or whatver.
The main show itself is a gas. It's introduced by the owner/manager/magician, Gerry Griffin, a charming tuxedoed fellow who's opening act is both very funny and very magical. Then there's the featured performer - on our visit tonight, the charming, very talented and equally funny Shawn McMaster.
While the magic is of course the star of the show, lots of the magicians are quite humorous also - Gerry and Shawn certainly are. That's a bonus feature of the place.
Beyond that, an intimate but not crowded room with great ambience and not a bad seat in the house.
It's not dirt cheap. But when you consider you're getting a hearty, tasty three-course meal plus three hours of wonderful entertainment, it's a bargain.
So check it out! And buy your tickets well in advance, since the placd usually sells out well before the shows. You won't regret it.
