点评:This is a female-owned company that recently rebranded and is now called “Maeve Chocolate”. We went there specifically for the factory tour. After you check in, you are given hairnets before you start the tour. The hour-long tour starts in a classroom where you sit at tables, watch 2 different videos, and learn about the history of Seattle Chocolates and the process of making chocolate. Our guide Jaden passed around a cacao pod, cocoa butter, and nibs. We got to try a warm sample of melted chocolate and tried to describe and guess what kind of chocolate it was. We then went inside the factory. Cameras and phones were not allowed. It was fascinating to see the production line, the packaging process, and the employees at work. Inside the factory, there are gigantic, colorful posters of some of their popular chocolate bar wrappers. We got to eat two more chocolate samples inside the factory. We then returned to the classroom where we tasted 6 more samples and tried to guess what kind of chocolate and inclusions were in each sample. At the end, they asked us to fill out a small survey in exchange for 10 percent off their chocolate in their store. Overall it was an interesting tour. There is plenty of parking. Store is bright. Chocolate has vibrant, colorful, attractive packaging. Bathroom is clean. I recommend visiting Monday -Thursday in order to see the machines in operation.
