Playa del Coco a big disappointment
Playas del coco的点评
点评：I’ve been to several Central American beach cities - notably Cancun (twice), Porta Valletta, and Zihuantineo, and I found Playa del Coco a disappointment. The roads are terrible, traffic is heavy and chaotic, and the restaurants are expensive. In the tourist area, trash was noticeable everywhere. If I was interviewed by the mayor of this community, I’d tell them that for the 18% sales tax charged, you should put some it back into the community - fix your roads and clean up all the trash.
We did have a good experience with a family-owned boat operator- Marea Alta Ocean Adventures, who provided us with a nice halfway trip to some seaside caves, snorkeling, and sea turtle watching.
Friends who have visited Costa Rica have the told me it’s a beautiful country to visit. I’m heading up to the mountainous region (Arnal and Fortuna), and hope I have a better experience than the one I’ve had in Coco.
