Cheap white bread no thanks

点评：I visited with friends for a catch up but we were all very disappointed with the quality of the food served.
We were booked for 1pm and after looking at the small menu some decided on toasties another 2 for soup with toastie and another opted for chicken skewers. After asking what the soup of the day was we were told it had just been prepared and would not be ready for 2 hours - a bit odd for a lunchtime.
So we all ordered toasties apart from the 1 friend who ordered skewers…a wise choice on her part!
3 of us had the cheese and pickle which also contained ham hock, this was basically cheap white bread with a small sprinkle of cheese a tiny bit of ham and a huge amount of pickle. The toasted bread was soggy and the whole thing tasted salty. The same cheap bread was used in the other 2 toasties, one with pastrami which looked the best of a bad bunch and the other was a 4 cheese toastie which was super thin and definitely short on cheese. All were accompanied by a “salad” otherwise known as lettuce.
The skewers looked good and the chips ok but a bit overdone. The waitress was lovely and passed our comments to the chef, they deducted 20% off our bill but it really wasn’t an acceptable lunch and we won’t be back. I hope they do look into using better quality breads and ingredients as it’s a lovely location.

我们三个人点了奶酪酸黄瓜烤吐司，里面还加了火腿蹄膀。这其实就是用廉价白面包，撒了一点点奶酪，放了一小块火腿，却放了一大堆酸黄瓜。烤面包湿漉漉的，吃起来很咸。另外两个烤吐司也是用同样的廉价面包做的，一个是熏牛肉吐司，看起来是这堆吐司里最好的一个，另一个是四种奶酪吐司，面包薄得像纸一样，奶酪也少得可怜。所有菜品都配了一份“沙拉”，其实就是生菜。
烤串看起来不错，薯条还可以，但有点炸过头了。服务员很热情，把我们的意见转达给了厨师，他们也给我们减免了20%的账单，但这顿午餐实在令人失望，我们不会再来了。希望他们能考虑使用更优质的面包和食材，毕竟餐厅位置很好。
