点评:Excellent & really interesting tour, with Marco, the keeper of the museum. Great value @€10 pp.
It's situated in caves, & dates back to the 15th century. The cistern there, which stores fresh rainwater, is 1,500 years old, & still working, as he will show you!
The tour in English is on a tablet, which Marco leads you with, & he adds extra information himself.
Every part of the process is well explained & documented. It's humbling to understand how hard people had to work for their olive oil.
At the end, we tasted the local oil, & it was possible to buy small 100ml cans (€5) to take home. (also larger sizes, up to 5L, if you're not travelling by plane!)
N. B It's not open all the time. Only by appointment.
You have to email /phone the day or maybe 2 days before, to book a time. (You can pick your own time.)
Having said that, if you walk there, you might get lucky, & find it already open if someone else booked it!
2 groups arrived by chance, when it was open for us.
