Disappointing Experience — Lacking Authenticity
Cat Cat village的点评
点评：I really wanted to enjoy Cat Cat Village, especially given its reputation as a beautiful cultural destination surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing, largely because the village no longer felt particularly authentic.
The biggest issue was the overwhelming number of visitors, many seemingly more interested in creating social-media content than experiencing or respecting the surroundings. Throughout the village, photographers and visitors taking staged photos often occupied scenic areas, sometimes taking over beautiful viewpoints for extended periods. It made the experience feel less like visiting a traditional village and more like walking through an outdoor photo studio.
The beautiful natural and cultural setting is undoubtedly there, but it was difficult to appreciate it with so much posing, photography, and congestion. At times, the focus seemed to be on getting the perfect Instagram shot rather than preserving or experiencing the character of the village.
I understand that tourism brings important income to the local community, and I don't fault people for wanting photographs of their visit. However, the sheer scale of tourism and the behavior of some visitors has, in my opinion, taken away much of what makes a place like Cat Cat Village special.
If you're looking for an authentic cultural experience and a peaceful opportunity to appreciate the local surroundings, I would manage expectations. The scenery is beautiful, but the tourist crowds and highly staged atmosphere significantly diminished my experience.
