I had an unforgettable week on Luciana Notturini's mosaic course in Ravenna. It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end.
Luciana is a wonderful teacher who is knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. We learned the traditional Ravenna mosaic technique through clear demonstrations and plenty of individual guidance throughout the course. Her passion for mosaic art is inspiring, and she creates a friendly, supportive atmosphere where everyone can learn at their own pace.
One of the things I loved most was that we could choose our own design and work in either smalti or marble, allowing each person to create something unique while learning authentic techniques. It was the perfect balance of traditional craftsmanship and personal creativity. We went away with two finished mosaics to take home.
On the final afternoon, we had a guided tour of Ravenna's UNESCO World Heritage mosaic sites. Seeing these breathtaking mosaics in person brought everything we had learned during the week to life and made the experience even more memorable.
Being in Ravenna, surrounded by centuries of extraordinary mosaic art, was incredibly inspiring. I returned home with new skills, fresh ideas and greater confidence in my own mosaic work.
I would highly recommend Luciana's course to anyone interested in mosaics, whether you're a beginner or an experienced mosaic artist like myself. Thank you, Luciana and her team for such a memorable and inspiring week. I hope to return one day.
