Great Wet Season Escape Near Darwin

点评：We needed a quick overnight break from Darwin, so we headed about 90 minutes down to Florence Falls in Litchfield National Park and camped at the 2WD campground.
The campground is simple but well set up, with toilets, showers, and easy-access sites. You need to book through Parks NT and pay a small camping fee, but it’s well worth it.
The real bonus of going in the wet season is the quiet. Most people stay away because of the rain, mosquitoes, and leeches, so the place feels peaceful and almost empty.
The short walk to Florence Falls is beautiful. When we visited, the falls were absolutely pumping after the rain. It looked incredible, although it was definitely not swimming conditions.
We spent the evening back at camp with a steak on the pan, a bottle of red and rain hitting the awning. It was exactly the quick break we needed.
Highly recommend it if you want an easy nature escape from Darwin.
