点评:I had been teased with the Nomadic Promo videos for a couple of years now and decided to press the button on booking a tour. In my mind I would have been happy if it had lived up to 50% of what is portrayed in the videos. I can only say this trip did not disappoint everything you see from jumping in sand dunes, riding alongside wild horses, camels you get it all. I’ve done many off road bike experiences over the years and consider myself a fairly competent rider on any terrain I’ve usually been let down by guides making you go slow or being overly safety conscious. We had a varied ability group but everyone was a competent rider and the pace did not disappoint! We were maxed out at nearly 140kph across plains, riding at a fast pace on gravel roads and I think everyone including our guide crashed in the dunes. The Nomadic staff were there to meet us with cold beers at the end of each day. Our chef provided great food non of which was authentic Mongolian but was received well by our entire group. At the time of our tour the Russian fuel refineries had been bombed so Mongolia was suffering with a fuel shortage. 1km queues for petrol became a normal sight especially in the remote areas. The Nomadic team made it work with some well executed monetary negotiations at Petrol stations and at one point one of the support trucks drove 800km through the night to make sure we had fuel for the next day! They really do everything they can to ensure you have a great experience.
If you’re sceptical about booking this - just do it Mongolia is an amazing place the scenery is stunning the people everywhere are friendly and most surprisingly the UB nightlife is very fun we had several unforgettable tequila fuelled nights out!
My only piece of criticism would be the booking process, the communication was sporadic at best between WhatsApp, emails and the newly released Dust App. Bearing in mind they are a travel company this could be way more streamlined it was hard to get confirmation of payments and they didn’t stick to their own schedules on contact. It was less than 4 weeks before my trip before they confirmed they’d received any money from me and I’d paid several months before.
