Expensive with all the charges and bathrooms were terrible

点评：We loved the campground and the area but there were a few "gotchas" that kind of irritated us. 1> We paid the camping fee in advance but when we got there we were gouged a separate park access fee. I guess that is the way of the world now but that was a first for us at a state park. If we add up the fees and campsite costs we paid $41 a night - which was a lot higher than any other state park we've stayed at.
The second, and main issue we had was the bathrooms. In a nutshell they sucked. They were not super clean (stunk and humid) , and for the size of the campground not nearly enough locations. After a 1/4 mile walk there literally was a line every time I went to use it and the campground was not even full. Not going to lie - the bathroom experience (at least for the men) was such a hassle I relieved myself outside nearly every time including one morning to poop. The showers were ICE COLD as well. We did not have one warm shower the entire week we stayed there. Shame on them for not at least having porta johns or something and for crying out loud FIX THE HOT WATER. I expect more for $41 a night.
Finally, the person at the gate had an attitude. We bought an annual pass, I put it in the windshield where they wanted it but he copped a 'tude when I told him it was not "applied" to the windshield. He said in order for it to be valid it had to be stuck on the windshield. I am from Arizona - I don't need a CO sticker on my windshield - he literally would not let me through until I applied it.. Rent-a-cop on a power trip.
We loved the area, the campground (Elk Ridge) was amazing , the view, the hiking, we loved everything about it - we even loved the town - but the park admin and the bathroom situation was not great. With all the BLM options in the area I doubt we will ever be back.

最后，门口那个人态度很差。我们买了年票，我按照他们的要求把它放在了挡风玻璃上，但当我告诉他年票没有“贴”在挡风玻璃上时，他却摆出一副不耐烦的样子。他说年票必须贴在挡风玻璃上才有效。我是亚利桑那州人——我的挡风玻璃上不需要贴科罗拉多州的贴纸——他竟然非要我贴上才肯放行……简直就是个滥用职权的保安。
我们很喜欢这个地方，露营地（麋鹿岭）很棒，景色、徒步路线，我们喜欢这里的一切——甚至连小镇都喜欢——但是公园管理和卫生间的情况实在不敢恭维。考虑到附近有很多土地管理局（BLM）的营地，我想我们以后应该不会再来了。
