点评：We absolutely love Santa Monica Beach and make a point of visiting whenever we're in the area. There's so much to do that you can easily spend an entire day here without getting bored.
Whether you fancy taking a stroll along the iconic Santa Monica Pier and enjoying the fairground rides, relaxing on the soft sand, or simply watching the surfers ride the waves, there's something for everyone. The beach has a lively atmosphere, yet it's spacious enough to find your own little spot to unwind.
The tides are great for paddling and playing by the shoreline, making it perfect for families. We loved bringing a picnic, kicking a beach ball around, building sandcastles, and just soaking up the California sunshine. The beach is also ideal for long walks, especially at sunset when the sky turns beautiful shades of orange and pink.
One of the highlights is cycling along the beachfront path. The dedicated cycle route stretches for miles, offering stunning ocean views and a fantastic way to explore the coastline. It's a fun activity for both adults and children, and a great way to work up an appetite before grabbing a bite to eat nearby.
If, like us, you grew up watching Baywatch, there's something quite special about seeing the famous lifeguard towers and wide sandy beach in person. It feels like stepping into a scene from the television show and adds a touch of nostalgia to the experience.
