点评:We diverted off the road between Monument Valley and Moab to visit this lovely part of Canyonlands National Park. The diversion was some 30+ miles but it was a gorgeous road, very pretty. Definitely worth stopping at Newspaper Rock to see the petroglyphs, and pulling over now and then to admire the views. Once, you reach the Visitor's Centre (loos - thank you for being open, given there was a Federal Government shutdown at the time), car park and picnic benches (with some shade), there is only a few miles further of paved road before coming to a roundabout (dead end), but there are plenty to see and walking trails off this road. We particularly enjoyed the Pothole Point trail. You could easily spend the whole day here. Indeed there are some lengthy trails for those with more time/energy. Very glad we did not just drive by and ignore this wilder part of this National Park.
