Stay away from the Old Town Parking Lot- QR code pay-to-park. Old town management, security and the Sheriff deputies patrolling are aware of tow company scam- you scan QR code to pay to park, you walk in to Old Town, tow company takes car and then you’re at their mercy to get car back.
After 20+ years- we decided as a family to go back to Old Town to watch the Friday night car show. Overheard a frantic family vacationing whose car was towed though they had confirmation of payment. While trying to help- met a handful of tourists also waiting for security to help that had the SAME thing happen to them after parking in this lot. Car would be towed, tow company texts you requesting $205 and tells you “they’re closed but they’ll bring you car only if you pay”. That’s another $205 on top of the $12.82 you already paid for parking. Old Town Security as well as the Deputies patrolling the area were kind and tried to help but it’s considered a “civil matter”. They are very aware of the scam. Families were advised to sue or pay the fee to get car back. What should’ve been an 1hr-2hr family activity turned into a 4hr nightmare.
