Pointe Vénus的点评
点评：My friend and I were in Papeete for one day only, a port stop on our Trans-Pacific cruise. We had no desire to do any circle-the-island and stop at shops tour, so opted to get a taxi at the stand on the main road and go to a nice beach. I had done a bit of reading about the beauty and history of Pointe Venus and we negotiated a fare of $40 US each way. The driver took us there and then returned promptly to pick us up, four and a half hours later.
What a lovely spot! Aside from the history of the place, this is a gorgeous, black-sand beach, with very calm ,sparkling warm water, amazing views, and a quiet, family vibe. The majority of the people there were local, many with their children. Yet it was quiet and serene, as befits such a beautiful location. Everyone was happy and enjoying the day.
It's not a huge beach but it wasn't overcrowded and we easily found a good spot. There are a couple of places to get food and drinks, a gift shop with local crafts, a toilet block and excellent showers.
The area near the historic lighthouse could get crowded when the tour busses stopped for their flying visits but the tourists didn't have any time to go onto the beach itself, so not a real problem. Only noticeable when we were looking at the lighthouse ourselves and when waiting for our pick up.
I definitely recommend this beach. It has been one of the highlights of our trip so far!

旅游巴士停靠参观时，历史悠久的灯塔附近可能会比较拥挤，但游客们没有时间走到沙滩上，所以这不算什么大问题。只有在我们自己参观灯塔和等候接驳车的时候才会注意到人多。
