Beyond the Bayou的点评
点评：We had a most enjoyable day with Beyond the Bayou! We booked the bayou tour and the Whitney plantation combo. Even though we’ve been on a couple of bayou tours, we still learned a lot from our guide, Albert. He has a wealth of knowledge regarding wildlife, the bayou, even about Apple snails! We did see a few small alligators, but even if we hadn’t, the morning would have been well-spent as we learned so much and the bayou is just breathtaking!
Lunch was delicious, and Albert shared some more of his knowledge regarding the plantation and customs of Louisiana.
Whitney Plantation is a must see! Its story is told more from the slavery viewpoint, and the story is told well. You will leave with a better knowledge and understanding of the true history of plantation life and how hard life was for the enslaved.
I have to mention our driver, Mr. Bailey! He welcomed us warmly and took care of us for the day, and got us back right on schedule.
Hats off to him!
