点评:What an absolute privilege and pleasure. I did the half day tour. Not only was it an amazing experience but also incredibly informative. This tour is based on the elephant rescue operation of the organisation. In 2006 they started with three elephants in a single location. Now they have 106 elephants in four locations. A truly amazing story. The entire tour is about interacting with the elephants feeding them watermelon making rice balls feeding them giving a mud bath scrubbing them off in the washing pool them scrubbing again in the rain shower. As part of the tour we got to make our own pad thai and together with provided food had a really enjoyable meal. The staff there are just brilliant. The head guy ‘K’ was both super informative but also very good humour. In fact most of the cost of the tickets goes to the care and support of the elephants so that is a bonus. One nice surprise is that they had two staff taking hundreds of digital pictures. I was expecting to have to pay for any that I wanted. But no, they all got put into the cloud and an email to us provide the link to download whatever we wanted. A magnificent service and gesture and very unexpected. Thanks to Om on the tour desk at the Amata Patong Hotel for recommending this tour.
