点评:One of the finest museums in the world focusing on American Indian. I went with a very active American 80+ year old from the Anishinabe tribe. We have gone to Phoenix regularly during the winter for the last several years. He always wants to go to the Heard and I strongly agree.
People with tribal membership cards are admitted free.
The exhibits are superb. Some change, like an incredible current (Jan 2026) exhibiit on how 4 tribes trace their origin from the sky, and some appear to be permanent (like the exhibit on boarding schools). There is a vast array of information, skillfully, beautifully presented.
There also is a special area for children, also very well done.
The museum shop also is spectacular - much that is "museum quality" available for purchase. However, my friend and I had visited the Navajo nation the day earlier. My friend commented that the prices there were far lower than those at the Heard. We recognize that everyone can not get to Window Rock or Chinle - though Window Rock and Canyon de Chelly are WELL worth visiting.
Bottom line is that this is an incredible place to visit but if you are looking to purchase something, you might want to go elsewhere.
