点评:A very short (3.5 mile) train ride in the dark, no views and a lack luster destination. Waited in rail car for 1/2 hour for our ride to start, which was expected. Reached what we assumed was the destination and sat in the rail car for 15 minutes waiting to hear or see if this was it, eventually we saw people getting off the train. There was barely light to see along the tracks, but there was a lit canopy like structure a short walk away so we went to it. From there a large lit up tent could be seen up on the hill. So, we walked up the hill dragging along a four and a two-year-old. This uphill walk took as long as our train ride and had nothing of interest for the children except for a small garden shed size building looking like a work shop. Just something to look at and not big enough to go into. We ended up in a large structure that looked like a circus tent from the outside. Nothing that would make the kids imagine we reached Santa's home at the north pole. Once we were inside, we stumbled around in a dimly lit hall looking for a place to sit. We were then (mis) treated to what I would call a skit where three teenagers dressed as elves did their bit that went on forever. Keep in mind we have a 4 and a 2-year-old, not just ours, the room was full of toddlers. By the time Santa came out, all the little ones were whining. Then Santa announces he is going to walk through the theater row by row in the dark (very dimly lit) and greet the children. We chuckled at this wondering how many times (twice) would Santa stumble? Santa's route through the theater took nearly an hour and most of the time he wasn’t in sight. How would this possibly amuse children? After what seemed like forever, we were ushered out where we began our long walk down the winding path to the train. Thankfully a short ride back and our bad experience was over. We live in the North Conway area and didn’t have a long drive, I felt sorry for the parents who drove hours for this. Conway Scenic Railroad proves the old adage is true “There’s a sucker born every day”. Unfortunately, this tourist scam ruins Christmas dreams for children.
