点评：I am a solo female traveler so while I very much wanted to see the Bandolier Monuments, I was somewhat hesitant to do so in case I got injured and/or something happened. So I found the Puye Cliff Dwellings and decided I'd do that first and then determine whether to go to Bandolier. I loved this experience. When you get to the visitor's center, you can pay about $26 for the adventure package (where you go both to the Mesa which has the summer homes and then down the Cliffs to the cliff dwellings which were the winter homes). Our guide was extremely patient and kind. He started out with a bit of a cultural lesson about the site and then brings you to explore each area. He allows you to ask any questions you would like and is extremely knowledgeable since he himself is a member of the Santa Clara Pueblo. The second part of the tour, which is optional, is descending the cliffs which could be difficult for some individuals. He leaves it up to each traveler to decided- if you want to abandon the adventure part of going down the cliffs, he radios for someone at the center to come back with the van and bring you back while the others go onward. The hiking downhill can be a little tough--with some very narrow footholds but the guide did an amazing job of explaining what handholds to use or techniques for footing in the rougher areas. And it's certainly worth the hike as he will stop and explain each area as well as point out the petroglyphs which exist. The scariest part--for me who is afraid of heights--was descending the latter (which I used to evaluate that I would, in fact, not likely do well at Bandolier on my own). Overall, an amazing tour with a great guide. If I wasn't taveling alone, I'd likely have made my way then to Bandolier on my own with an understanding of the history, use and making of the cliff homes. Definitely a must-see in Santa Fe
