点评：We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Minh Chau, even if it was a bit of an experience. We were here in April 2026 just before their busy season. There were almost no western tourists which made a pleasant change. Many hotels were closed or undergoing construction. We were lucky enough to find the Hana Minh Chau Hotel ( our original hotel turned out to be only part built) and it was lovely. Run by Hana and his staff, it had a lovely landscaped pool, big rooms, good beds and pillows and the most fantastic shower I would happily take home with me. Hana is happy to cook whatever you ask for and his meals are not expensive, which is just as well as there were not too many options for food.
The real gem were the beaches. Yes, there was a bit of waste management needed but the sand was soft if not pristine; the water was pleasantly cool; the sun was hot; the breeze was cool; there were good waves at times and the beach we went to at the north end of the island was virtually deserted. One kilometre of beach to ourselves. What’s not to like, especially after the crowds of Ha Long, Cat Ba and Hanoi.
