点评:We did the organised tour that we booked before we left Australia.
Not the easiest to book as you can only do it so many days before the tour date and it has to be by phone, it took a few try’s to actually get booked in.
You have to have a booking to do the tour.
To enter you have to remove your shoes and the tour is for 40 minutes and all in Japanese, cost 1200 yen per person.
We were given a folder with the tour explained in English so it was not to hard to follow the commentary.
It is an amazing building with so many traps, secret tunnels, trick staircases, hidden rooms, a well with a secret tunnel to escape to the castle. It was built in the 1600s so has survived all sorts of happenings in that time.
It was designed to protect the Lord who built it as it would have been very hard for an enemy to successfully attack and gain entry plus there were many ways for the occupants to successfully escape.
A very complex building that would have taken a lot of planning and building.
I thought it was a place all about the Ninja but it has nothing to do with the famous Ninja’s at all.
Really worth visiting but if you have mobility problems forget it as there are lots of steep narrow staircases and other tricky spots to manoeuvre.
Sadly you are not allowed to take any photos inside.
