Small but a lovely half day activity
Natureland Seal Sanctuary的点评
点评：We spent a good 2hrs here. Arrived just after it opened. They have 6 resident seals who can't be rehabilitated - definitely make sure you catch a talk at feeding time they are so cute and cheeky and you get to understand their back story.
We also watched the seal pups talk and feed. Bring cash. They sell small items (pocket money) for cash that goes directly to the seal hospital and not to main sanctuary. It costs £2000 per seal to rehabilitate and they get around 60-70 a year from local beaches. There is of course a main gift shop (well stocked and reasonably priced) but I assume those profits go to the wider running of the sanctuary
They have a mini petting farm with a very friendly goat called Henry!! They also have an aviary and butterfly house and small aquarium.
The penguins area was being refurbished (as was a lot of the site) so we couldn't really watch them. This is the only reason for 1 star loss as we couldn't view the hospital and some areas were a little tired.
The cafe wasn't our thing. Smelt very greasy. Mainly paninis and hot meals with chips. There is also an ice cream outlet next to the cafe.
They have some reasonably priced options to either adopt an animal or become a friend of the sanctuary, which we did before we left. The work they do is so important. Lovely half day out or more depending on the interest levels of your children.
