A magnificent scenic drive with whales as an added bonus.
Cape Whale Coast的点评
点评：As part of our tour of the Cape with family from the UK we drove along this scenic coastal drive from Gordon's Bay to Hermanus.
The road follows the coast line and wedged between the Hottentot-Holland Mountains and the sea. You are met with changing vistas around every corner, from rugged cliffs to sandy coves of white sand.
There are numerous beaches to stop off at and enjoy the views across False Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
Wildlife abounds along this route. Whales are often seen between June and November, and even though it was coming to the end of the season we did see a few whales out in the bay. Fur Seals can also be seen playing along the shoreline on and off the rocks or swimming in the sea and diving down to the Kelp Forests below.
Sea birds abound along the coast. Then there is the penguin colony near Betty's Bay which is worth a quick stop.
We have driven this route a few times and every time there is something new to see. If you are planning a trip to this area of the Cape then this is definitely a drive to add to your itinerary. Especially during the whale migration.
