点评：Newark, Ohio is not exactly on the main crossroads of the United States. We deviated our trip from Canton, Ohio where we saw the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame on our way home from Niagara Falls, New York to Minneapolis, Minnesota. So, the first question in your mind is; is it worth it? We would say yes, but not for very long if somebody doesn't start taking care of the place. As you might imagine, the trees and shrubs are growing over and the paint is wearing off. So, temporarily, for the next year or two, it is really an awesome sight. We live for experiences like this. We like to drive down two lane highways across the United States, such as through South Dakota to Denver, followed the Santa Fe trail across desolate southern Kansas, found the Mormon ruts out in Wyoming, did the Extraterrestrial Highway near Area 51 in Nevada...you get the idea. So, we love slices of Americanna. If you dig into the internet, you will find that there is a giant apple basket nearby at the family home here (we did not know this). The picnic basket is difficult to photograph. You can't get it from the highway side and across the highway is a big hill with dense forest. On the south side, you are too close and there are trees blocking the picture. On the west side, the parking lot is growing over and there is trash about. We did not try the east side. Could you get a good picture of it? Yes, stop on the highway (dangerous) or hike up the hill on the other side of the highway.
