worth a look, and a walk across
Aerial Lift Bridge的点评
点评：this is a rather unique bridge in the way it operates and is an attraction in its own right. This is where most of the boat traffic comes and goes into town. the hardest part about seeing the bridge lift, is being lucky enough to catch a large freight boat coming or going. sadly, the web site and visitor center that provide ship times are grossly inaccurate and completely undependable.
The good news is , the bridge does lift for common size boats also, like a fishing charter size. it only goes up a partial way but you do get to see it. Your best chance to see one of the big boats come or go is to stay at the south pier inn. Your room will have a front row seat.
The bridge has a walkway for people on both sides that you should do just get a view. and the walk alog the pier to the light house is worth wile also.
We were lucky enough on our last day here to catch a major oar tanker boat come through, it was a sight to see.
