Henry Morrison Flagler Museum的点评
点评：I've been a fan of the late Henry Flagler ever since moving down to Florida as a snowbird.
Mike Heney and Stephen Birch are also mentors of mine. So, the Copper River Northwestern Railway, the Kennecott mines in Alaska and the Henry Flagler Florida East Coast Railroad as well as his hotel enterprises in Florida, on the Atlantic coast, all became a reality during the same time period of the twentieth century.
Flagler's "Whitehall" home is now a museum, and one of the best private museum holdings in the world. I wanted to visit this for some time and I'm very fortunate that my wife also loved the half- day tour of the place we took yesterday; we were both exhausted at the end of the day. Interesting to note, is that Flagler had just an eighth-grade education and never traveled outside of the United States, although he was a millionaire before Florida and according to his partner in Standard Oil Company, John D. Rockefeller, Henry was the brains behind their partnership.
An added plus for us was, unknown to me until we got here, was that Henry's own and famous luxury railcar has been restored and is part of the entire exhibit. "This was the same private, luxurious car that carried Henry Flagler to the opening of his "Flagler's Folly," the railroad that went to sea."
