点评:As a Baltimore resident, I visit Fort McHenry multiple times a year.
I highly recommend planning your visit so that can you participate in the daily flag changes. A ranger will start the program by telling the origin story of the National Anthem. You will then have an opportunity to assist with flag change.
Fort McHenry also has a number of cherry trees. If you visit in Baltimore in late March/early April, you should take the opportunity to enjoy the cherry blossoms. You can learn more about the status of the trees from the Fort McHenry Facebook page.
While you have to pay visit the historic fort, you can walk along the seawall (and enjoy the cherry blossoms) for free. It is not unusual to come across bird watchers along the sea wall.
The park does at 5pm for most of the year with extended hours in the summer. You can take public transportation to the gate including the Charm City Circulator Banner Route, which is free.
