点评：The Mayflower II is a full-scale reproduction of the ship that carried the Pilgrims to Plymouth in September, 1620. 102 passengers of all ages and temperaments, and their livestock, sailed across the Atlantic in a cramped space midships on the Tween Deck. The voyage took 66 days, and they arrived at the northern tip end of Cape Cod in November 1620. Winter was coming shortly and their supplies were dwindling. The overall length of the Mayflower was just 106 feet, and the width measured on the Main Deck was only 84 feet. As I stood in those spaces, I tried to imagine what this trip must have been like. Their dedication to their ideals had to be strong in order for them, especially the women, to undertake this journey.
The two views of the Gun Room are taken in different directions to capture the length of the ship. At the entrance there is a interactive passenger display. You decide which passenger you want to be and follow their trip around the ship. I recommend to take your children. This is a very realistic reproduction, and they can try to imagine what life might have been like for a child aboard this ship.
