点评:I traveled all the way from Japan to Ecuador and had an incredibly ambitious and rewarding mountain experience.
On Day 1, we climbed an unnamed traditional rock wall on Rucu Pichincha and continued onto the Paso de la Muerte ridge.
On Days 2–3, we tackled a true alpine climb on Illiniza Sur via the Ruta Celso Zuquillo, facing snow and ice conditions.
Day 4 was spent free climbing at around 4,000 meters in San Juan.
Finally, on Days 5–6, we successfully summited Chimborazo.
The weather was generally poor throughout the trip, yet each day we set off at precisely the right moment. We reached our objectives safely, and remarkably, the summit areas cleared just when we were there. It was clear to me that our guide had an exceptional understanding of the mountains and local conditions.
Every day, my guide carefully balanced my climbing ability with my level of acclimatization and proposed challenges that were demanding yet achievable. This made each day deeply engaging, motivating, and genuinely fun.
Throughout the climbs, we discussed snow and glacier conditions and exchanged opinions openly. Every decision made by the guide was well reasoned and convincing, and his risk management and safety skills were outstanding. I was truly impressed and felt that this level of judgment is exactly what one expects from an IFMGA-certified mountain guide. On top of that, his personality was excellent—calm, professional, and a pleasure to be with in the mountains.
I found Andean Summit Adventure almost by chance, but among many agencies, I chose them because they listened most carefully to my requests during the planning stage and earned my trust. That choice turned out to be absolutely right. My guide, Sebastián, was exceptional. Thanks to this trip, I now have new goals and new ambitions in mountaineering.
Thank you very much for an unforgettable experience.
