Truly upsetting experience – please avoid

点评：We visited the restaurant Maikhao Garden and Seafood expecting a nice meal, but I left feeling sick to my stomach. There were two elephants nearby that were clearly suffering. You could see the sadness in their eyes as they swayed back and forth, a repetitive motion that happens when elephants are broken and confined.
The elephants were standing on a hard, unforgiving surface which is incredibly damaging to their feet. This explains why they were lifting their legs, they were desperately trying to shift their weight to relieve the pressure and pain in their joints.
It’s 2026, and it’s heartbreaking that this still happens in Phuket. Watching them lift their legs in discomfort and sway while music played from the restaurant was just too much.
It was shocking to see other people ignoring this obvious distress. Please, if you visit Phuket, do not look away, this is animal abuse.
