Napili Farmers Market的点评
点评：When we visit, we book an accomodation with a full kitchen which allows/forces us to cook all our meals on site. It may sound like a lot of work, but the ability to shop locally for food and avoid the restaurant prices is for us, a big plus.
Thus I was aware of this farmers market which runs full tilt two days a week, but to my surprise, there are supporting vendors in the main building that offer their wares six or seven times a week.
On a Tuesday, a limited amount of fresh, local produce was available. The small shop with the produce also has local items such as jams and nut butters and some baked goods. There was also a vendor serving up fresh coconut milk ice cream. And the 'mustard guy' putting on an amusing invite to sample his product.
I went back on Wednesday and bingo...lots more produce and other local food items like the coconut water vendor... preparing fresh coconut to drink the water from within. In addition, there was some live music. Frankly, I paid no attention to the pricing...maybe it was more expensive than the nearby Times market or Safeway or Foodland Farms, but so what? These are items that were in the ground or on the tree only hours before I bought them. The quality was outstanding.
I bought enough for a number of meal sidedishes and with local beef from either Safeway or Foodland Farms, I'm dining like royalty.
What a great resource.
