点评:Great historical park with something for everyone. If you are into a frequently overlooked but decisive event in the US Civil War known as "The Breakthrough" at Petersburg - this is the actual spot! Great walking trails leading around the hallowed grounds and excellent signage and audio tour (included in your ticket price!) of the area. Wonderful museum(s) (Yes, three locations for one of a kind artifacts) and a great way of telling a soldier's story by tracking the steps of a soldier from enlistment to the end of the war (Adult and Child versions of the audio tour). They have an original (antebellum) home on the grounds and recreated earthworks to see what they would have looked like at the time. They have an exhibit that tries to recreate what it may have felt like on a battlefield. It was not crowded when I went on a Saturday afternoon and if you are visiting the nearby NPS Petersburg Battlefield, this is a must do to complete your tour!! I would bank at lest 90 minutes but closer to 2-3 hours if you want to see all the exhibits and go for a great (easy mobility) trail walk to see a unique piece of history at a pivotal time! They have great facilities, a very friendly and knowledgeable staff (ask questions, they want to talk to you!!) and a veteran's discount for a really unique visit in the Petersburg area.
