The Coal Creek Miners Museum situated in a former small-town bank has a treasure trove of artifacts from the region's coal miming area. Begin with a brief overview video the history of Coal Creek as a company town as you reflect back on the classic Tennessee Ernie Ford's song: Sixteen Tons. Then take the docent led tour of the museum and feel the ghosts of the past. Kudos to docents: Jim Murdoch and his colleague Mary Kate for their excellent presentations of the difficult life of the miners and their families.
