Great Zoo but the tiger show shocked me
清迈夜间动物园的点评
点评：The zoo is really good, lots of animals, fun day out, opportunity to hold a few animals, good shows. The trams are great fun and feels like a safari up close with giraffe etc. One of the better zoos I’ve been to in SE Asia. Good food options through the zoo at really reasonable street food prices, small meals for 50thb etc.
However, we didn’t realise they do tiger shows, we stumbled across it and it made me uncomfortable. The tigers look well cared for and healthy but were performing tricks like jumping on logs and bridges and going through tunnels, with handlers in the enclosure with them. It didn’t feel right or make sense the tigers are trained. I don’t know if these were bred in captivity and use to humans. There seemed to be one trainer who was feeding them and making them do the tricks but another trainer in the corner who the tigers were more scared of so this really made me uneasy how they are trained. Either way it wasn’t natural and I didn’t like seeing it.
The zoo I would have rated 5 star, but I can’t give 5 stars when the tigers are performing tricks. they need to stop the tiger show immediately and it would be much better zoo. A real shame they are doing this
