点评:This has been on my radar to come see for some time. We have done so many National parks, Monuments, Museums & Forest .. this was one left hanging on the east coast.
Even if you know nothing about who the Wright Brothers are .. you’ll know by the time you leave. Very well documented, replicas & artifacts. Although I knew a good bit, I did learn a lot too. Very interesting and my husband and I are readers so we tend to read just about everything. After the museum we went out to head toward the monument. You can take a walk down the 852 feet to see how far the first document flight was if you want to. Markers for the 3 prior tries too.
The walk to the monument is not as bad as it looks. Great wide concrete paths. It’s a little uphill towards the end, just take your time. It’s been standing “almost” 100 years. It’s something to see up close. Walk around it and read the inscriptions. If you notice on the back side down in the distance you’ll see a life size bronze replica. You can drive to it after. It’s cool to see with all the extra people in place at the time of the flight.
We were there almost 2 hours total for everything. Highly recommend a visit ..!!
