点评:We booked the 8:00 AM entry permit on a Monday morning and had a great experience getting into the park. We only waited about 5 minutes at the Beaver Meadows Entrance, then slowly drove through the Bear Lake Entrance, where they checked our timed entry permit again.
Parking was packed, so they directed everyone to the Park & Ride, which was about 10 minutes from the trailhead. It was super simple, though, because the shuttles were constantly running. We took the shuttle to the trailhead, where there were also bathrooms (smelly but what can you expect).
The weather was perfect for hiking! We decided not to walk all the way around Bear Lake because, in our opinion, there wasn't much more to see once you got the initial view from the beginning of the trail. Instead, we continued on toward Emerald Lake and passed Nymph Lake and Dream Lake along the way. We even swam in Dream Lake! This whole trail was pretty accessible other than it being rocky in some parts. we saw lots of little kids and families.
After that, we continued on to Lake Haiyaha. This was definitely the hardest part of the hike because it is uphill for about three-fourths of the way there, but the views were some of the best we have ever seen. Before you get to the lake, you have to climb through rocks. This section of the trail was also much quieter, which we really enjoyed.
The main four lakes had a decent amount of traffic, and we often had to step to the side to let people pass, but it wasn't too bad since there was enough room around the lakes for people to spread out.
I highly recommend this trail and definitely look forward to coming back to this area and Rocky Mountain National Park in the future! This was by far our favorite hike of our entire trip.
