Fantastic Rides and Animals – But Quick Queue Was a Major Disappointment

点评：We had a really enjoyable day at Busch Gardens overall. There’s a great combination of thrill rides and animals, and Iron Gwazi was absolutely AMAZING – easily one of the best rides we’ve done during our Florida trip and an absolute must-do.
Tigris was also brilliant and we really enjoyed SheiKra – although once you survive that first drop, the rest feels relatively easy! 😂 The animal areas were another real highlight for us, particularly the chimpanzees and gorillas. It was lovely being able to combine some genuinely excellent coasters with the animal experiences.
Most of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, with only a couple of fairly indifferent interactions. The park itself was generally clean and pleasant to walk around, although some of the toilets could definitely have been maintained better, especially considering how quiet the park was.
Food was probably the weakest part of the day. We ate at Oasis Pizza and unfortunately the pizza was dry and really not very good.
There were also a few attraction availability issues. Cheetah Hunt was not operating for the day due to its refresh, Skyride was down for essential maintenance when we tried to use it, and another attraction was also unavailable.
Our biggest disappointment, however, was Quick Queue. As international visitors with only one day at Busch Gardens, we had pre-purchased two passes at $80.99 each because we were happy to pay extra to maximise our time.
Unfortunately, the park was exceptionally quiet. At around 1:45pm, virtually every major attraction was showing a 5-minute wait, including Iron Gwazi, SheiKra, Tigris, Montu, Cobra’s Curse and Falcon’s Fury. Quick Queue therefore provided essentially no practical benefit and on occasions the standby route was actually quicker.
We raised this with Guest Relations before leaving but were told that because we had already used the passes twice, they couldn’t refund them. That was frustrating, particularly as Quick Queue was still being actively promoted to guests at the entrance and around the park despite there being virtually no queues to skip.
We also purchased Quick Queue at SeaWorld Orlando during the same holiday and it worked considerably better there because the park was busier, so we certainly don’t have an issue with the concept. My advice would simply be to check the actual wait times before buying it rather than automatically purchasing it in advance.
Overall, there is a lot to love about Busch Gardens and we had some fantastic experiences, particularly Iron Gwazi and the animal areas. Unfortunately, paying $161.98 for Quick Queue with essentially no benefit, and then being unable to resolve it with Guest Relations, significantly affected our overall experience.
