Having these exemplary, highly regulated operations on our immediate doorstep adds incredible value to any stay within the Kawama Community. Another not so often discussed opportunity exists.....One of the most magical, cost-free experiences available to families staying with us at Kawama Tower 406 requires nothing more than a cup of coffee at sunrise. If the morning ocean is calm, or again around sunset, taking a lazy walk down to the private waterfront pier inside the Kawama Community frequently rewards you with views of wild dolphins waking up and playing in the sound toward Rodriguez Key or final daylight fishing sorties. Whilst we have small numbers of Dolphins in the waters around the Florida Keys year round, a lot of the year they are out at Sea or back in Florida Bay hunting distant passes and edges. They become more accessible for viewing from our unique location at the edge of John Pennekamp State Park seasonally. Sightings are especially frequent during courtship, births, and during the bait runs. Peak times include May, October, November, December and January offering an authentic, first-hand connection to the local marine environment right on site. and make a special treat to watch as they chase Ballyhoo or simply romancing and being playful !
