点评:I arrived into Yeppoon looking for coffee, I stopped at a nearby cafe that had no toilets and directed me here. It wasn't too far away, and also a gave me a chance to stretch my legs. :)
Clearly I had one thing on my mind and my focus was becoming urgent ( YES that was too much information) but I noted as I made my way to the amenities that it was an attractive small park.
Once my urgency had been dealt with I took a few moments to walk to the nearby war memorial and read a little bit about why the park was named "Beaman". The park was named after the first superintendent appointed to the Yeppoon Hospital. This doctor practiced in Yeppoon for 21 years from 1922 to 1943.
Dr Beaman was English and did his internship at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin. In 1895 he was admitted into the Royal College of Surgeons. He moved with his family to Australia in 1908. He lived until the age of 73 and practiced until his death.
