An excellent adventure overall!

点评：We took our nervous 11 yr old and our 'gung-ho' 9 yr old on the Family Pirate Rafting experience for our first ever rafting experience. Our time on the river was brilliant. Our guide was excellent and made everyone feel safe and at ease with fun comments and games. My 11 yr old had the option to opt out if he wanted and my 9 yr old had enough adventure to throw himself into. The river felt safe but had enough white water interest to make it super fun for a first timer. We had 2 hours on the river which felt a reasonable length of time. The equipment was high quality.
But I do think there are some things to be aware of....
1) On the website it says they 'treat you' to some food. This is not true (not even water!!)
2) They tell you not to take anything with you to the river... but a drink might be advisable on a very hot day.
3) Many people (for all the activities) have to get changed at once... so it takes time to be ready to go.
4) The bus journey to the starting point takes 30mins so be prepared for this. There's also a journey to get back.
5) The photos are €30 additional. If you want photos then better to have a secure way to take your own on the boat. We didn't have that.
Overall, we had a good experience. It was pricey (£50 per person) but overall I believe it was worth it... although I think they could have thrown the photos in for free!!
