点评:A good experience to see and touch donkey up close. The facility is well run, neat building, feed, shelter, water and staff. The sanctuary is part of trying to help, they didn’t cause the donkey issue on Bonaire but offer a safe environment. It is remarkable how gentle they are, even with bags of carrots they do come in but more gentle than horses would be. Ask before feeding anything. A simple pet and ruby ruby and they get the idea the carrots are gone. We are around horses and notice ( and look for ) good care, clean facilities, food storage for equines that we also saw in every aspect here. They have to get feed and hay from Netherlands as importation laws can’t import agricultural items etc. Very reasonless fee to enter and it is a large area to slowly drive around. Allow 2 hours for everything and visit to the various sections. Although there is no concern, they are so gentle. If not used to animals, stay calm and quiet, they match your calmness and just pet them, you don’t have to bring food to see and pet them.
