Interesting museum house with local history. Not a must see if pressed for time.

点评：I toured this house during a recent visit to Lafayette. The house and exhibits are well maintained and the visit did increase my understanding of Lafayette history and of the families that lived here.
There are a few free parking spots directly in front of the house (and other metered street parking spots available around the house). We were the only ones there during our visit, so parking was no problem.
The visit started with a fairly comprehensive video that showed many of the objects on display. As I was able to see the actual objects themselves in the house, I found the video showing the same objects to be redundant.
The house is chock full of objects/exhibits - making it feel more like a museum than just a furnished, historic house. With the large volume of exhibits/objects, it can feel a bit crammed and overwhelming.
I enjoyed the visit and would recommend this to folks with a strong interest in local / Lafayette history. If you are passing through town and have limited time to budget for tourism, I think you can skip this site; while it is interesting, it is not spectacular or radically unlike other historic houses one can tour.
