Gold Canyon Resort - Dinosaur Mountain Golf Course的点评
点评：I have been playing Dinosaur Mountain golf course for the last 31 years, as a member since they started annual memberships. Dino is a beautiful amazing and at time difficult course. The views are awesome. The condition of the course (except for the bunkers) is great. They overseed with Rye in the fall around late October so the course is Cart Path Only until around December 14th each year. Dino is actually two different sets of 9 holes. Holes 1 through 4 and 14 through 18 are the back 9 of the original 18 hole course build in the mid 1980's. Holes 5 through 13 were opened around the year 1999. The original back 9 from the 1980's is by far the most difficult. These holes have smaller greens and many are sloped. Some dramatically, where knowing the slops is important to scoring well. Example: On the first hole it is important to NOT be past the pin due to the fact that the green slops dramatically back to front. If you are long and don't make your put the next shot maybe from off the green. They can be that fast. But most importantly if you are a true golf enthusiast you will love the course and definitely come back again and again. Under the new ownership the last few years they have invested a great deal of money in maintenance, especially in clearing of many of the desert areas just off the fairways to help with finding your missed shots much more easily. Everyone always talks about the Views the Views and the Views, they are a special part of the golfing experience. Don't be fooled by the total yardage from the tee's. This course is a par 70 with 6 par 3's. The green are firm and challenging ( especially 1-4 & 14-18 ) so be patient and just come back as they are much easier once you have played the course a few times. There is so much more I could ramble about but trust me in 31 years and thousands of rounds I have never not been excited to tee it up and challenge the beautiful Monster ...
